Herb’s Toasted Subs
Herb’s Toasted Subs is a tiny little place in the downtown area of Eugene, kinda near Ta Ra Rin. Inside, there’s a surprisingly huge TV and a couch, in addition to the regular chairs. It boasts a large amount of desserts, subs, rice bowls, and lasagna on the menu. I got the meat lasagna, which was deliciously cheesy, and not very meaty. Sure, it wasn’t gourmet (it left an orange pool of oil on the plate) but it sure was delicious. The garlic bread served with it was crusty, buttery, and garlicky, the best garlic bread I’ve ever had. My mom and dad looked pretty jealous. Mom got The New Amsterdam, basically gravy on bread. Dad got a rice bowl with boring vegetables. They really didn’t look all that great.
For dessert, we got peanut butter and chocolate fudge which was frozen. It was too sweet for Mom, but I liked it. It had chunks of peanut, which were good. We also got an item called only “Pumpkin Chocolate Chip”. It was a very squishy, cakelike substance with chocolate chips, and it tasted like someone put chocolate chips in the can of pumpkin pie filling, then gave it to us. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t all that great either.
