Toshi’s Ramen is a delicious, delicious noodle bowl restaurant on 1520 Pearl St., Eugene. The decoration is minimal (for a chinese/japanese restaurant): some pictures on the wall. It has Japanese style noodles with broth in three flavors: soy, salt, and miso. The bowls of soup are freaking giant, and good on a cold, rainy day. The noodles are the best noodles I’ve ever had. But the other stuff is yummy too.
The gyoza (potstickers) are not greasy at all and filled with a pork and vegetable filling. They’re a great appetizer dipped in the sauce you make yourself (with instructions). The fried rice is the best fried rice I’ve found in a restaurant, not too salty (although occasionally I add soy sauce) and substantial.
The only occasional problem is the sloooooow service. It hasn’t happened as often lately, but Toshi’s can be extremely slow. But the food is ultimately worth it. Patience is always rewarding.
